Wicked Aura has come a long way since its inception as street performers in 2003.

Fast forward to 2018, these noiseniks have evolved their sound into a lethal combo of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, abrasive Rock, hypnotic Dub/Reggae, bopping DrumNBass and everything in between. They have performed in festivals and in countries such as Australia, UK, USA, France, South Korea, China, Indonesia, India, Spain, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Japan.

They’ve shared festival bills and stages with the likes of the Beastie Boys, Robert Plant, Femi Kuti, The Dhol Foundation, Chico Cesar, Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Jimmy Cliff, Jurassic 5, The Black Eyed Peas and many more artists from a huge spectrum of genres.

An EP, OK GO and two full length albums, Louder Than Light and Beginning The End was released in 2005, 2008 and 2017 respectively. Methodical and brazen, it is a sound that had been honed through 15 years of musical evolution; from the streets of Singapore to playing international stages the world over. From frontman Budi’s spitting vocal delivery to the sonic assault of the wicked rhythm section, the chemistry and synergy of the band has to be experienced live to be believed. In 2007, one of their demo tracks, Fight was shortlisted by The BBC’s Next Big Thing; a global search for the future of music. Wicked Aura was the only Asian band to be shortlisted that year.

In August 2017, the band had completed their inaugural Japan Tour, which included 3 full house local shows and the performance at the mega festival Summer Sonic 2017 (Tokyo) with an exceptional turn out at the Island Stage.

The Wickedboys are currently writing new material and prepping to bring their fiery music live to a city near you.
